Whilst killing time in Cardiff, I visited my old address, 31 City Road. The building is empty now but it was once the centre point of one of the happiest years in my life. We occupied the first floor flat. My bedroom had a huge picture window, overlooking the Road. I arrived there after work one evening with all my possessions packed into a single taxi. Put everything away in what little furniture there was, made the bed and turned in for the night. I didn’t possess any curtains and with the window, not being overlooked by any other vantage points, they seemed unnecessary. When the alarm went off in the morning I stumbled naked out of bed and for a short while blinked uncomprehendingly at the window where the top deck passengers of a stationary bus stared back, just a couple of feet away.

Yay, I'm first!
Thanks for the laugh. I've picked myself up off the floor now - and at this hour
Missed opportunity.
You could have charged admission fee.
I wonder if those passengers are now blogging about how hot naked guy became part of their daily trip. Did you invest in curtains right after that?
Fifth Floor- I'm here for the gigle.
MJ- Too complicated, I'd have to get involved with collecting my portion of the special upper deck tickets.
Snooze- No, just peeked before getting out of bed.
The exact same thing happened to me - really.
Ahh, the road famous for the takeaways in practically every building. So you had chicken curry for breakfast every day then?
Mutters- Really?
Ickle_Bro- The Albany Rd end had all the take-a-ways. There was the curry house across the road which gave us extra large portions if we took over our own containers.
Poets Corner took most of my weekday money.
oh lordy! morning wood and all????
I used to do tht regularly.
After about the 5th time, I no longer had any shame nor embarrassment.
I don't know if thats a good thing, or not.
How delightful.
Here's the 'a' you dropped Piggy, you thick mong.
First Nations- In those days, morning wood had to be kindled and extinguished before properly waking up and getting out of bed.
Piggster- A bit like those dreams I used to have of public nudity. After a while I found I could cope with it.
HRT- He's used up all his 'a's having sex.
Ha! I always travel on the top deck - it's good for nosing over fences, etc.
Are you still allowed to smoke on the top deck?
precious memories, how they linger!
i['m stoned. go get naked and stand in front of your window.
See? I'm waving! can you see me?
Hmmmm...naked. Such impure thoughts run through my mind now.
I bet they were thinking , I dunno what hes wearing but it needs a good iron :-)
Phlegmfatale- Oh yes. A bit like the cat smell from that old flat.
First Nations- OK. Can you see what I'm waving back with?
Awaiting- And now in mine too.
Beast- I've learned to keep my arms above my head. Keeps everything taut.
And someone else's blog is reading "This one time I was minding my own business while riding the top deck of a bus..."
Cheers my good man!
Well, think on and then trek to Mississippi. I have a surprise for you.
Oh and HELLO PIGGY AND TAZZY
We used to have a building site opposite the office, and a canteen on the 11th floor.
One lunchtime, we were all sitting eating when the crane turned to reveal that its driver was not merely shirtless, as initially surmised, but completely starkers except, for some reason, for his sports socks.
A lot of lunches went unfinished.
Cat smell? Ah, the heady tang of nostalgia. Loved this post. It's funny to cast one's mind back to the times when we traveled lightest, and yet were the most rich.
Qchique- LOl, yes you're probably right. Nice to see you doing the rounds again.
Awaiting- *does double flick of eyebrows in intreque*
Aunty Marianne- Good story, Sounds like a TV advert.
Phlegm- It's all about the people you know and the lack of responsability
