Duff Lyrics

I forget who it was who descrbed Phil Lynott as the greatest living Irishman, presumable whilst he was alive, but he didn't seem too great when he sang,
Tonight there's going to be a jail break,
Somewhere in this town.
My guess......try the jail.
Do you have a favourite duff lyric?

Oh, that's marvellous!

I always thought that one line in Rhythm Is A Dancer was obviously a last-ditch, desperate effort to find a rhyme:

I'm serious as cancer
When I say rhythm is a dancer.

Also, Life by Desiree has the following gem:

I don't want to see a ghost
That's the sight I fear the most
I'd rather have a piece of toast

Though admittedly, I've heard the lyrics were written by her little sister.

I'm up the duff
Couldn't get enough

He asked for my muff

Mu Tai Dong- Maybe something is lost in translation. Have you tried reading top to bottom?

Pissoff- OK.

MJ- Is that your favourite duff lyric or just a proclemation?

Qenny- Oh yes, 'cancer' is one of those words with such negative assosiatons it just jars when used casually.

There seem to be an increasing number of strange lyrics as if no one actually cares anymore, Paul McCartney was a serial offender, except that so many of the lyrics were duff that none of them actually stood out.

On the other hand, I believe there was once a music hall song with the lyric,

over land and sea and Surf.
