Expect Delays
Having worked a 12 hour night shift, I'm tired and have a senior moment. I forgot there was an RTA and join the motorway. It takes me two and a half hours to travel the 20 miles home.
I'm not annoyed or irritated. I enjoyed listening to the radio. I also have to thank God I wasn't on the interstate bridge in Minneapolis when it plunged into the Mississippi River.

Terrible, wasn't it? We so take for granted the myriad structures that hold up day after day around and beneath us. It's good to be alive.
Apparently the Seven Bridge and Humber Bridge are on their way out & won't last another 30 years
Phlegmfatale- Yes it puts things into perspective.
Frobisher- I recently traversed the old Seven Bridge. If the tarmac is anything to go by it'll be returning to the earth any time now.
that's an old fear from childhood realized. those poor people.
the power of positive thinking tick :-)
and that bridge thing was awful :-(
I always worry about needing a poo in a traffic jam.
First Nations- My childhood fear was being hit by a tsunami.
Beast- As Ma' Tickers used to say, "There's always someone worse off than yourself." Although this may no longer be true now she's dead.
Funny Thing- Funny you should say that. I made a bit of a rush to the bog when I got home.
The wreckage photos from the bridge collapse are horrific.
I watch the news constantly...I mean, whatcha expect from a woman who has no internet access...I was saddened.
Here is some humour on the topic (Remember, Kids, laughter is the best medicine):

I'm wearing an anonymask for this one, just in case.
snooze- They are. I was pleased to learn that most of the 'missing' were later found to be already in hospital.
Awaiting- It is sad. One of the toll bridges over the Severn Estuary near here is very wobbly. There is constant work being done to replace the bent rolled steel girders.
I was a bit puzzled just then, but then realised that an RTA isn't the same as an RTD.
No kidding. I called a good friend that lives up there. Fortunately, she does not take that bridge.
