Tribute to Fabienne.

Fabienne died two years ago today. She was the love of my life. She was from the only black family in her village. When she died, her funeral was like that of a celebrity, the church was full and half as many again stood out side. Everyone loved her. I was so honoured to be a part of her life and even more so to have been her partner.
May she rest in peace.

Oh, Ticks. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it happened some years ago, but the passage of time just doesn't lessen the loss, does it? The only consolation I can offer is that you were at least lucky enough to have found her, if even for a short time. Some people never know that kind of joy.

I- I've always felt that being with her, even for a short time, is as you say, a rare experience. In that respect, I regard myself as very lucky.

Snooze- I'm afraid the picture isn't as clear on this blog as the original. I'll see if I can add a better one. It is however one of my favourites. Her father was a coal miner and told her he came from a well to do family in Jamaca. She didn't believe him until she took a holiday there and met them. This photo was taken at the family home.

She was indeed a beautiful woman, both inside and out.

I know at times we ask, "Why did you leave me?" (a question I asked when my father passed)...but the reflection we should have is "Thank God I met you..."

We know not when the time may be for us to leave this world, we can only partake in that in which is now. Be mindful that things cross your path for a reason, be mindful that you are worthy of love. Be mindful that you are blessed.

We may never gain that of which we have lost, but we always hold the right to obtain that of which we have not.

The great thing about wonderful people who come in to your life is that they are always a part of it. That's what makes us sad when they leave - but it's also an incredibly good thing. How terrible it would be to really be able to forget.

Pink drama- I wasn't sure about posting. I felt it might be wrong in some way, too private. I did it to make me feel better the same as placing flowers on her grave. I'm not even a Christian so what's that all about. I guess its respect. As the title of this post says, it's a tribute.

MJ- Thanks MJ, you've got the spirit of the whole post in a few words.

Awaiting and Lippy- I've said this before. The most we can ever hope for romatically is to meet someone special and to be together until death parts you. For that I'm grateful and blessed.

I am so sorry for your loss, Tick. That was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. You were very blessed to have her in your life, and I am sure she is still with you.

I don't think you should feel it's wrong to post this. If anything, it helps her memory live on, which is a good thing.

Thanks for sharing. My thoughts are with you, T xxxx
